The Art of the Storybook

The Art o fthe Storybook is a hands-on opportunity for teachers/administrators K-12 to do the following; (1) learn about contemporary authors and illustrators; (2) learn various techniques and mediums which are currently used in illustrating children's books; (3) write and illustrate a book of their own using these techniques.

Tamara Zollinger has a Masters of Elementary Education and an Art Minor. She has taught school for 14 years. Presently she is an Artist in Residence with the Utah Arts Council. http://arts.utah.gov/ae/tamara_zollenger.html

Tamara travels to elementary schools throughout the western states with her book arts program. Students and teachers illustrate a story they have written using the art techniques they learn during the residency.
